  • SM '26

Claire Southard studied computer science and neuroscience as an undergraduate at MIT. In the Music Technology and Computation Graduate Program, she researched how to make music performance more accessible for musicians with motor impairments.

Outside of class, Southard spent her time at MIT playing the piano in the MIT Wind Ensemble, competing in mock trial, and working with the admissions office to support rural students applying to college. She currently works as a data scientist for the St. Louis Cardinals, developing models to inform player evaluation, in-game strategy, and roster decisions.
