Saga Fagerström (b. 1996) is a Swedish composer, engineer, and flutist. She is interested in developing digital sound-processing tools that give composers complete control over the sounds they create, allowing them to realize sonic ideas as closely as possible to how they are imagined rather than dictated by the structures and interfaces of the tools themselves. She seeks to create technology that makes it possible to shape sound almost like clay. Alongside this, she engages with technology-based sound art that links musical gesture to movement and materiality, currently in the form of kinetic sculptures.

Her compositional work encompasses electronic music, installations, and instrumental music. It is characterized by gestural processes and a dynamic playfulness - music that continually seizes the listener’s attention. Through translations between sensory modalities, with synesthetic association as a central tool, she creates musical representations of materiality, physicality, tactility, spatiality, and movement, with the aim of evoking an expanded and disorienting experience of physical reality.

Fagerström studied composition at Gotland School of Composition, electrical engineering at KTH Royal Institute of Technology, and flute performance at the Academy of Music and Drama in Gothenburg and the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz. Her music has been presented in Sweden and internationally, including at Nordic Music Days, Svensk Musikvår, and Ung Nordisk Musik. She is also a co-founder of the record label Echo & Altar.
