Egozy Lab

Eran Egozy is the director of the Music Technology and Computation Graduate program, and was the co-founder and Chief Technology Officer of Harmonix Music Systems, the company that created the music video game franchises Guitar Hero and Rock Band. He also plays clarinet professionally with groups like Radius Ensemble in Boston.

Harmonix’s mission statement is, “to let everyone in the world experience the joy of making music.” At MIT, Eran’s research is motivated by the same idea. He is interested in creating experiences that give people an opportunity to deepen their relationship with music, no matter where they are on their musical journey.

Eran loves collaborating with other musicians. For many of these projects, he has had the pleasure of working with his friend and colleague in Music and Theater Arts: composer Evan Ziporyn.
